Azerbaijani broadcaster ITV have announced their 2017 Eurovision act, who was internally selected by the broadcaster. Diana Hajiyeva (Dihaj) has been chosen to represent Azerbaijan, however this is not her first Eurovision experience.
Diana, who is known commonly by the stage name Dihaj performed in 2016 as a backing singer for Samra, who competed with the song Miracle and finished in 17th place in the final. Previous to this, she performed in the national final back in 2011, however lost to Ell & Nikki, who then went on to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 with the song Running Scared.
At this stage, not much else is known about the song or performance, however details will be released over the coming months. Stay tuned for more news about Azerbaijan’s journey to Kyiv 2017!
